Wandavision vid help

Would anyone be willing to look over the the beginning (Around 50s worth) of a Wandavision vid for me? I've got a bit stuck and have lost all objectivity over it and need someone to tell me whether it's worth continuing or not.

First covid jab down

I got my first Covid jab yesterday, and was both surprised my appointment was so early (I thought it was going to be July at the earliest), and how well organised the vaccination centre was. I was on the premises for just over 20 minutes in total, they had everything moving like clockwork. Doug had his a couple of days ago - he got the Pfizer and I got the AstraZeneca (I spell this differently nearly every time I've written it), and I imagine it has no bearing on the fact he got a sore arm whereas I got the full blown flu experience for 24 hours.

I mean I'd much rather have flu-like symptoms for 24 hours than COVID, but it hasn't been a fun day.

Cullyn gets his tomorrow, because of his hole in the heart, he falls in the group that have underlying conditions but haven't had to shield, so is getting ahead of Owen despite being younger. (Because of his age and his condition, we phoned the helpline and found out he'll be getting the Pfizer jab as well. I was fairly certain that they had to have some mechanism in place to make sure the under-19's weren't having the AstraZenecca, but it's nice to know for certain).

My mood today and a request for recs.

This week I have mostly been reading Richie Ryan H/C

Does anyone have any recs for Richie Ryan centric Highlander fic that isn't on AO3? I've read through the Richie Ryan tag there, but thought people here might have links to fic that never made onto AO3.

(Despite the image I'm up for anything vaguely plotty so long as there isn't any character bashing [especially not Mac bashing] and although I came too late to the fandom for Clan Denial, Richie lives)

I meant it about watching shows with teenagers. People who rag on teenage girls have no idea what they're missing out on. (Also what should we watch once we've finished Leverage?)

Tonights Doctor Who (Spoiler Free)

I wish my corner of DW fandom was as active and as full of joy as it was in 2005.

Because the outpouring of posts inspired by that last episode (Fugitive of the Judoon) would have been thing of beauty.

As it is, it made me so, so happy.

I think I might actually make some fandom icons for the first time in years

I am sat in the waiting area of a BMW showroom, whilst Doug's company car that we had no part choosing has its locking wheel nuts sorted.

I think that last time I felt this explicitly out of place was when I was a first aider at the Badminton Horse Trails sat next to a v. aristocratic Steward who was v. friendly but evidently confused by these very obviously not upper class Red Cross First Aiders.

All fingers crossed.

I went to bed 3 hours ago and then gave it up as a bad job. Far too anxious about the by-election. I really, really hope Chris Davies gets voted out, fuck his smug, criminally fraudulent face.

I can't wait to have a female MP who's not part of the self-satisfied landowner tradition in this constituency, (really the last Lib Dem MP Roger Williams was just a Tory by another name) although I won't look forward to hearing all the casual misogyny that also gets thrown at Kirsty Williams (our AM)

It's been weird having all this focus on us, we're not North or South Wales, and generally when people talk about Mid Wales, they're talking about the coast - normally Aberystwyth. I can't remember ever having a candidate doorstopping on our road before, but this election we've had multiple visits from both Lib Dems and Torys. One from Chris Davis himself. I'd wanted to argue with him, but when I opened the door and wrangled the dog, I found myself so angry at everything his government has done, and everything he supports I ended up telling him "Don't bother, you're a convicted fraudster" and slamming the door in his face. How dare he come to my house and expect me to vote for him. (So angry I was shaking, this government has killed people and is going to kill more).

I can't even think about what it means for Brexit, it makes me sick. (I know people here who are really, really against Brexit but are voting for Chris Davies because the media has been unfair to him/ the Lib Dems have had their knives into him. Fuck them too)

Oh fuck I really hope he loses.

Just a smidgen of good news.

MP Chris Davies unseated after petition triggers by-election

Having signed this petition on the first day I could get to Hay, and tried to persuade as many of my friends to sign it as possible I am very happy at this news.

Now just to pray that the Lib Dems get back in. (I'd prefer Plaid, but realistically the Lib Dems are the only ones with a chance of keeping the Tories out).

End of 2015 Memes

You know, this year I'd really like to post here more than once a year, and although these are memes, well... any post is better than nothing isn't it?

FANDOM

Your main fandom of the year? Probably Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Your favorite film you watched this year? I think The Martian as it's about the only big film I've got to see this year.

Your favorite book read this year? I enjoyed We Are Completely Besides Ourselves, so much more than I expected. It was a book I wished more people I knew had read so I could talk about it with them.

Your favorite album or song to listen to this year? Alt J - Every Other Freckle. Over and over and over again.

Your favorite tv show of the year? Bake Off. I love Mary and Paul, (My Birthday present from my sister this year was tickets to see them live at the BBC Good Food Show) but I'm in it for Mel and Sue.

Your best new fandom discovery of the year? I've only just started with it, but Brooklyn Nine-Nine. So much love for Holt!

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year? The direction of the Marvel movies. I fully intend to finally get around to watching the Winter Soldier at some point, but I will live in denial of any films past that point. I'm not saying they are bad for telling those stories, I'm just not interested in going there.

Your fandom boyfriend of the year? Tony Kennedy from The Kennedys. (I CAN"T HELP IT. IT"S THE AWESOME DAD THING)

Your fandom girlfriend of the year? Jessica Fletcher. (Hannah & Rebecca have discovered Murder She Wrote, I have been watching a lot of it)

Your biggest squee moment of the year? OK It wasn't really mine, but it was just so cute it became mine. Hannah and Rebecca talking to their friend Frankie, (they are all nine) and discovering she was into Murder She Wrote too, and a bout of the three of them literally jumping up and down whilst holding each others hands and screaming to find someone else who liked it.

The most missed of your old fandoms? I miss how active I was in my old fandoms, and I miss the conversation I'd have with my friends in the fandoms - probably Buffy or Ninth Doctor Doctor Who.

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to? Too many to count.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year? Actually trying to participate in fandom again.

LIFE

1. What did you do in 2015 that you'd never done before? Start to learn to ride a Horse.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I never make resolutions at New Year. If I feel I need to change me or do something differently, I can't see waiting for a specific day will make me more likely to do it.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Not super close. A few friends.

4. Did anyone close to you die? No, thank you.

5. Which countries did you visit? SCOTLAND! And of course occasional trips into England.

6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015? A decent summer weatherwise .

7. What dates from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? 27th July. Starting a new job the day before my Fortieth Birthday.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting out of the YHA before it damaged my health too badly. (Getting an Interview with Kate Humble as Head of Cafe despite not having enough experience in Catering was up there, even though I didn't get the job)

9. What was your biggest failure? Not getting out of YHA sooner.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Getting Tonsillitis whilst in Liverpool for a three day course with a nasty exam at the end of it wasn't exactly fun.

11. What was the best thing you bought? My coffee machine and grinder. Even if it's not a commercial machine. (When I win the lottery...)

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Aside from the Tory Government etc etc, my well-it's-their-age-and-everybody-back-then-thought-like-that racist but otherwise lovely Volunteers, whom I'm not allowed to tackle on anything offensive/hurtful they say. :-(

14. Where did most of your money go? Family holiday to Scotland. New floor. New Sofa.

15. What were you really, really, really excited about?.Family holiday to Scotland. New floor. New Sofa. ;-)

Happier.

21. What was your favorite month of 2015? August - Starting new job, and holiday in Scotland.

22. Did you fall in love in 2015? Nope but I stayed in love.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't think there's anyone I hate, but there's certainly some new people I can't stand to be around...

28. What did you want and get?My own Riding Helmet. (So I don't have to borrow the grotty school ones)

29. What did you want and not get? Sleep, although this most mostly self-inflicted

31. What did you do on your birthday? I had my second day at my new job, and then Doug took me to the Felin Fach Griffin. I neeed to go back at some point.

34. What kept you sane? Doug. The Mountains

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

36. What political issue stirred you the most? The refugee crisis. (And on a micro-scale, corruption in the BBNPA planning office)

37. Who did you miss? [personal profile] sohotrightnow. Even though it's my fault I haven't spoken to her for ages.

38. Who was the best new person you met? My new boss.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2015. The job can always get worse.

Why are there only two stories on Archive of our Own that have Pepper Potts and Donna Moss tagged in them? There is something wrong with the universe.

*Hi* I'm still alive, I've had a job the past two years that was meant to be 42 hours a week but has mostly worked out to 55/60 hours a week. Next week I start as Assistant Manager at a charity shop and my hours go down to 28 a week. I'm hoping I might actually be able to scrape together a few hours a weeks for things like fandom and crochet. We shall see...

Alternative to Facebook Groups

I've been on a course for people interested in running their own business. (Which I will be posting about later as I wasn't expecting the trainer to read my feedback whilst I was still there) and I and the other participants wish to stay in contact. There's only twelve of us, so I don't need a heavy duty solution, but I want something that has similar functionality to Facebook Groups, isn't Facebook Groups and is free.

Any suggestions? It should preferrably but exceedingly easy to sign up to as there is a large range of tech saavy.

Any suggestions?
